Точка, в которой услуга какого-либо уровня OSI становится доступной ближайшему вышележащему уровню. SAP именуются в соответствии с уровнями, обеспечивающими сервис, например, транспортные услуги обеспечиваются с помощью Transport SAP (TSAP) на верхней части транспортного уровня. Каждая точка доступа имеет SAP-адрес, используемый для идентификации конкретного объекта, способного предоставлять сервис.
